Gatecrashing into the dream job

Flashback to about two and a half years ago. With a good offer in hand, I was sitting cosy at my uncle's place when I got a phone call from my dearest friend (fondly called Kate (blog)). He had come to my city for a pre-screen test for a job interview. I was getting bored anyway, and decided to go and meet him while he was standing in the queue. I did not even have a resume in my hand. To cut a long story short, I not only managed to appear for the test and interview, I also got an offer and ended up accepting it. Lesson learnt: gatecrashing is the way to get a job.

Cornell dayz: A couple of months ago, the most coveted company - Google - came on campus. I was disheartened to find my name missing from the list of pre-selected candidates. With a smile on my face and a resume (no mistake second time!) I went to the HR on the day of the interview and asked for an interview slot. And the rest, as they say, is history. I've got a dream offer from Google and I will be joining soon!! :)

Three cheers for gatecrashers!
