Better latte than never

This post is about a very popular and highly addictive substance. It is available everywhere for cheap. What’s more, more than 80% of the population is addicted to it, and it is 100% legal to produce, sell and consume it. Yes, I am talking about caffeine.

My affaire de la caféine started sometime in the summer. The proximity of a popular coffee joint College Town Bagels is the chief reason why I got started with it. (However, there were other delicacies too see Mango Veggie Chilled). Very soon, I was consuming my favorite Latte nearly everyday. Mondays were especially delightful, since my boss used to treat me to a free latte on Mondays! I truly believe that it was a great way of boosting morale, etc. management tricks. It worked and the magic of caffeine worked too.

A week ago, I thought I was becoming a slave of caffeine and I decided to quit. I quit cold turkey. And that’s when the fun started. Sleepy days and sleepless nights. A feeling that I am going to catch flu. Irritated and nervous mind. Nausea and vomiting. Yes, these are all documented features of caffeine withdrawal, which I went through (rather still going through). I gave two interviews in this state and I am persisting. The urge to have that one coke or just one coffee to get me started is my prime enemy. And I am fighting full strength.

Is there any CA group? (Caffeinoholics anonymous?) If not, memberships are open I am recruiting.

If this post is not as ‘spicy’ as my other posts, you know the reason – it’s caffeine withdrawal!

PS: ‘Mrs Crabtree’, this post is for you.
